The government of India will set the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices within the country. Domestic CNG rates will be linked to the global prices of imported natural gas. Any fluctuations in the global natural gas market will be promptly reflected in the domestic CNG prices in India. India sources over fifty percent of its natural gas from international suppliers to fulfill its domestic demands, incurring a cost significantly higher than the local rate. As environmental consciousness grows among citizens, a larger segment of India's population is transitioning to vehicles powered by CNG, aiming to contribute to a greener planet.
